Business Technology - Technical Program Manager (Los Angeles, CA) (Remote Eligible)

As a Business Technology Technical Program Manager, you are in a leadership position within the Business Technology organization and will be responsible for leading large and complex IT initiatives from end to end.  You have strong TPM experience, are a motivated self starter and have demonstrated expertise delivering projects in a SaaS and agile environment across business platforms. You thrive in a fast changing ambiguous environment and will be the point person for ensuring clarity of strategic level goals, working cross functionally and delivering excellence in scrum, project and program management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program and project manage various cross functional initiatives within and beyond Business Technology; take a hands-on and proactive approach, introducing efficiencies when needed with the ability to dig in and employee both a strategic and tactical focus to get the job done
  • Partner with a broad set of technical and business partners to drive initiatives that meet business and technology objectives enabling Okta to scale and structure, kick-off, and run continuous and/or time-bound programs
  • Interface with leadership and key business stakeholders serving as the communications hub; provide clear and crisp transparency around status and progress of initiatives at all levels of the organization; maintain a continuous risk management approach that enables proactive decisions and actions maintain a clear understanding of program and portfolio priorities to ensure expected outcomes are delivered; build alignment across multiple teams with a focus on execution, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities
  • Scrum Lead one or more Business Technology delivery teams;  champion the adoption of agile best practices across the Business Technology organization

Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 12+ years total in project and program management experience in a cloud IT  organization with a focus on internal business platforms (e.g., Workday) driving program, projects & enhancements interfacing with internal business customers
  • 2-4 years of hands-on Scrum Lead experience within an IT organization across Business Platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; experience effectively communicating and presenting to teams located across different locations and people ranging from individual team members to C-level executives 
  • Self-motivated and driven and has demonstrated commitment to take accountability and responsibility for success of large programs with ambiguity and competing priorities
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to influence without authority
  • Strong technical aptitude / affinity; experience working hand-in-hand with business systems’ technical owners, configuration administrators, software engineers, configuration administrators, quality and test engineers and/or business process owners
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills  with the ability  to build bridges between groups and drive effective teamwork
  • Experience working in a start-up environment desired 

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Training in Agile and Scrum
