Senior Product Manager - IaaS

iland is looking for an experienced Product Manager with demonstrable Infrastructure-as-a-Service experience to join our team. The IaaS Product Manager defines and grows iland’s secure public, private, and virtual desktop cloud computing portfolio by understanding business and technical aspects of the products, user requirements, trends, competitive landscape and refining the balance between business needs and product/technology delivery. This is a full-time position based in the United States.


  • Manage our Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Data Center Product Lines from concept, to design, cost and promotion, including the operational and technical processes involved in quoting/sizing, deployment, and support

  • Detailed understanding of building cost and pricing structures. In depth knowledge of third party software licensing structures and pricing schemes such as Microsoft, VMware, and others. Ability to read extensive licensing documentation, and in turn maintain and define company's evolving customer facing service schedules

  • Represent the voice of the customer during the product backlog management process (user stories creation, grooming, prioritization, refinement)

  • Communicate, influence and work with other internal departments, including the Executive levels, to align company vision and goals with the Product plans, strategy and roadmap

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Data Center and Cloud Security solutions for both internal teams and external stakeholders like analysts and channel partners

  • Work with a cross-functional team to deliver on new service definition, market positioning, pricing, sales support, channel enablement, procurement, service delivery and daily operations

  • Evaluate features, processes, timing, costs and internal capabilities to balance the right combination of deliverables and trade-offs to maximize the service/product impact in the competitive marketplace

  • Coordinate with vendors, partners and service delivery teams on technical review and validation of the features and services prior, during and after market launch, including beta testing and QA

  • Leverage product and market knowledge to create new product documentation and training material

  • Track and analyze KPIs and Product Business metrics against company-wide goals to determine product success and whether objectives were met

  • Document win/loss analysis

  • Represent the company at trade shows for product support

  • All other duties as assigned


The following skills represent the minimum requirements to be considered for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related study
  • 5+ years of relevant Product Management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, IaaS, SaaS, or similar
  • Working knowledge of VMware, certifications preferred
  • Deep understanding of virtualization, data center infrastructure, bare metal servers, and public/private/hybrid/multi cloud
  • Advanced knowledge of Cloud Services and solutions (AWS, Azure Stack, OpenStack and APIs)
  • Advanced knowledge of Security and Networking tools and solutions applied to cloud environments
  • Experience on SPLA programs including Microsoft and VMware licensing structure applied to Cloud Service Providers
  • Strong ability to influence and collaborate with a diverse set of teams and roles
  • Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision and highly motivated

Preferred Skills

The following skills represent additional proficiencies preferred to be successful in this position:

  • General knowledge of Compliance impact to cloud products is a strong plus.
  • Proficient in Issue & Project Tracking Software (Atlassian Jira preferrably), its configuration, dashboards, navigation and use
  • Good listener with low ego
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to execute multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to keep multiple groups on the same page
