iland is seeking an experienced Program Manager to manage the infrastructure program and drive multiple fast-paced, cross-functional, cross-product technical projects that align with company objectives (OKRs). The Program Manager will be responsible for the department’s program from work intake, prioritization, project planning, resource planning, process improvements and reporting and status updates. The Program Manager will own the department’s key metrics and ensure the right measurements (SLOs/SLIs/KPIs) are in place, monitored, analyzed and actioned through to completion and verification. And the Program Manager will be a department representative for the Department Vice President at meetings, and provide/gather status for the VP.

A strong Program Manager candidate will have a keen ability to think both strategically and analytically, to dive into the details and also assess projects and issues from a global view, and to develop out-of-the-box solutions and navigate the challenges that accompany projects of large magnitude and scale. The Program Manager is also tenacious, results driven and an excellent project manager. An ability to communicate effectively, form partnerships and influence and drive stakeholders (both internal and external) is a requirement for this position.

The ideal candidate will possess experience managing technology initiatives and must be able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

This position will be responsible for presenting project information to the executive team, clearly identifying in a timely fashion where there are project roadblocks and at risk projects. You will also work with senior-level technology executives and cross-team resources to manage a portfolio of projects while managing stakeholder expectations.

General Responsibilities

  • Act as a representative for the Technology Department Vice President at meetings, and provide/gather status for VP
  • Collaborate with the Technology Department Vice President to manage, track, and report the Department’s OKRs (objectives and key results), including the horizontal and vertical alignment with other departments
  • Identify, maintain, monitor, analyze, action, and report the appropriate technical, product and team measurements (including SLOs, SLIs, and KPIs) in collaboration with Team Managers
  • Manage and mentor team Project Managers to ensure consistent and quality project management, including reporting
  • Monitoring and reporting on large-scale technical projects and overseeing project leads to ensure interdependencies are lined up, scope is controlled, resources are available, and timelines are met
  • Organize project teams by identifying areas of needed expertise and required skills
  • Manage overall delivery of project across all functions including requirements gathering, design, testing, and implementation
  • Work with project leads on requirements and project approval, including obtaining consensus from related teams, and tracking changes once project scope is defined
  • Define, track, and ensure timely and accurate completion of project milestones and deliverables
  • Identify and assess roadblocks and resolve project issues with management and/or project team
  • Provide regular communications on project status to executive management and project teams
  • Improve quality, implementation timing and cost for projects
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Establish continuous contact with all business teams and act as central hub
  • Coordinate, act as day-to-day project contact with related teams
  • Liaison to business to scope prospective projects and determine project costs and business value
  • Identify project management gaps and promote project management best practices
  • Inherit and turn troubled projects around
  • Identify the appropriate project methodology for a project (waterfall, agile, hybrid, etc.)
  • Participate in business case creation and maintenance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring stakeholder alignment to project business value
  • All other duties as assigned

Infrastructure Department Responsibilities

  • Tracking and reporting of large-scale complex infrastructure and datacenter technical projects at a global scale
  • Experience managing multi-department programs driven by global supply-chain and logistics coordination
  • Keen understanding of technology procurement operations and overall impact to infrastructure deployment milestones and critical paths

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years technical project and program management experience managing a portfolio of complex projects in a dynamic and demanding environment
  • 4+ years of people management experience
  • PMP certification preferred, PgMP certification a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile project management
  • Knowledge of Jira a plus
  • Experience leading large program management efforts including establishing effective governance structures, cross functional coordination, initiative prioritization, and executive stakeholder management and reporting
  • Proven experience developing and managing workback schedules, scope, budgets, resource plans, issues, risks and change requests
  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience working closely with senior executives and cross-functional partners, including software developers, engineers, product, support, marketing, accounting and business operations roles, to deliver key strategic initiatives
  • Strong end to end project management skills, shepherding multiple programs from kick off to completion
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills and the ability to interact with executive level business and technical partners and keep multiple groups on the same page
  • Proactive desire to own and drive projects forward through measurable process, planning and team engagement.
  • Comfortable working in a very fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Delivery experience using Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Project and Portfolio, Roadmap and Task management tools
